Sorry folks for our bye week on Week 7, but we’re back with some value plays to consider for Week 8.

I’m only playing at DraftKings this weekend, so the value picks described below are specifically intended for play at DraftKings. However, they may still be good values at FanDuel.

Quarterback:

Phillip Rivers (SD):

In Week 7, Rivers racked up 30.44 fantasy points at DraftKings in the loss against Oakland. His line of 38/58, 336 yards, with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions provided excellent value last week and could do the same in Week 8.

Rivers’ salary only increased $100 from Week 7 to Week 8, moving from $6500 to $6600 against a Baltimore defense that gives up the most fantasy points to QB’s and the second most fantasy points to wide receivers.

Running Back:

Todd Gurley (STL):

In Week 7, Gurley had 19 rush attempts for 128 yards, plus 4 receptions for 35 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns. Gurley earned 35.3 fantasy points and only costed $5000 in Week 7.

In Week 8, Gurley’s salary jumps up to $6300, but we believe he still provides awesome value playing at home against San Francisco, which gives up the 7th most fantasy points to the running back position and 4th most overall fantasy points.

Wide Receiver:

Stefon Diggs (MIN):

Stefon Diggs continues to put up great numbers at a very cheap price. In Week 7, Diggs saw 80% of the snaps, 9 targets for 6 receptions for 108 receiving yards, plus 1 rushing attempt for 9 yards. This was the 3rd game in a row that Diggs had 6 or more receptions. Over the past 3 contests, Diggs leads the Vikings in targets and receptions.

In Week 8, Diggs’ salary increases from $4200 to $4800, and faces Chicago which gives up the 7th most fantasy points to the wide receiver position.

Tight End:

Martellus Bennett (CHI):

Bennett is coming off a bye week and faces Minnesota at home in Week 8. In Week 6, Bennett matched Alshon Jeffrey in targets so his production should continue into Week 8.

The Vikings rank 6th in giving up fantasy points to the tight end position.

Defense:

St. Louis Rams:

We really like the Rams defense this weekend playing at home against the 49ers. The San Francisco offense is struggling while the St. Louis defense ranks 2nd in fantasy points generated and 10th lowest in points allowed.

St. Louis is also an 8 point favorite in a game with an over/under of 40.
