On Sept. 22, 2021:
The Line: Arizona Cardinals -7 at Jacksonville Jaguars – Sunday, 1:00 PM (ET)
The Pick: Cardinals -7 (-110)
The Jaguars start the season 0-2 straight up, and 0-2 ATS while failing to cover by a 12.25 point avg. The Jaguars have given up an avg. of 30 points/gm. to Denver and Houston, two teams worse than what’s upcoming. The Cardinals avg. 36 points scored per game, which ranks 2nd in the league.
The Line: Miami Dolphins: 20.5 Team Total Points
The Pick: Under 20.5 (-125)
The Dolphins’ O-line ranks 30th in adjusted sack rate vs. a Raiders’ defense which ranks 16th, but also ranks 3rd (tied) in QB hits. The Dolphins’ offense ranks 30th in DVOA, and 31st in Pass DVOA vs. a Raiders’ defense which ranks 16th in DVOA, and 17th in Pass DVOA.
The Raiders are home favorites, with Dolphins QB Jacoby Brissett getting the start for Tua Tagovailoa (broken ribs) who’s out this week.
On Sept. 25, 2021:
The Line: New York Jets at Denver Broncos -10.5
The Pick: Broncos -10.5 (-105)
The Broncos are 2-0 ATS, and the Jets are the only team that are 0-2 ATS as a dog. The consistent Teddy Bridgewater is 13-7 ATS as a favorite and 38-14 ATS overall for his career.
The Jets lack offensive playmakers to threaten the Broncos top tier defense. Even with the loss of DE Bradley Chubb (ankle), HC Fangio’s defense should be able to cause big problems for rookie Zach Wilson. The Jets sport the lowest implied team total (16) this week.
