NFL Week 6: October 12 – 16, 2017
We’ll provide some details and insights on some of the potential top daily fantasy defense/special team value plays for week 6.

There are some obvious on-paper, solid matchups for the high-priced defenses this week. Outside of those, these defenses may provide some salary relief.
Defense
Kansas City Chiefs – Salaries: DraftKings (DK) – 3200, FanDuel (FD) – 4800. Kansas City’s salary ranks them 9th/7th on DK/FD, respectively.
The Vegas line with the Steelers has the game total at 46 points with the Chiefs as -4 point home favorites. The Steelers’ implied team total is currently at 21 points and the Chiefs are currently at 25 points.
Kansas City logged 3 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 return TD at Houston last week. Kansas City ranks 8th in sacks and are a top half unit in takeaways with 7. Pittsburgh has given up the 5th most turnovers with 9 and rank 25th in DVP against defenses.
Jacksonville dropped a line of 2 sacks, 5 interceptions, two of them going for pick-sixes, and held the Steelers to 9 points at Pittsburgh last week.
These two teams are trending in opposite directions. Kansas City remains the only undefeated team, while this does not feel like a bounce-back scenario for Pittsburgh in Kansas City. If a Pittsburgh implosion is in the works, this would be the week for Kansas City to blow through the Pittsburgh cracks.
Los Angeles Chargers – Salaries: DraftKings (DK) – 3100, FanDuel (FD) – 4300. Los Angeles’ salary ranks them 12th/20th on DK/FD, respectively, making them a better relative value on FD.
No betting lines available yet as Derek Carr’s (back) status is currently unknown. Oakland hosts Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Chargers racked up 5 sacks, 1 interception, and 1 fumble recovery at the New York Giants last week. The Chargers are tied for 3rd in the league with 17 sacks while Oakland ranks 15th in sacks allowed with 12.
Oakland is ranked 14th in DVP against defenses. Baltimore registered 3 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and a defensive touchdown in Oakland last week.
Oakland has lost three straight, and have not yet showed an ability to make any adjustments. The Chargers could capitalize if Carr is limited or ruled out.
Atlanta Falcons – Salaries: DraftKings (DK) – 3500, FanDuel (FD) – 5000. Atlanta’s salary ranks them 5th/3rd on DK/FD, respectively.
The betting lines with the Dolphins has the game total at 47 points with the Chiefs as -11 point (2nd highest on the board) home favorites. The Falcons’ implied team total is currently at 29 points and the Dolphins are currently at 18 points.
Miami ranks 30th in DVP against defenses. Tennessee recorded 1 sack, 2 turnovers, and held the Dolphins to 10 points in Miami last week. Miami’s offense ranks last in yards/gm, TDs, yards/play, and third-down conversion rate. DeVante Parker’s (ankle) status is not yet known, but will be less than 100% even if he goes.
Jay Cutler may risk losing his job if he face-plants again and will likely face a negative game script. Atlanta is coming off a bye.
