1. Los Angeles – QB Jared Goff – California – 6’4”/215. (4.82 – 40 yard dash time).
Goff has a quick release and good pocket awareness. He is likened to Matt Ryan per NFL’s Mike Mayock.
Goff is the most pro-ready QB in the draft and is expected to be the Rams’ week 1 starter. Nick Foles is currently on the roster but the Rams are expected to move him prior to training camp.
2. Philadelphia – QB Carson Wentz – North Dakota State – 6’5 1/4”/237. (4.77 – 40 yard dash time).
Wentz is tough with good touch and accuracy per Mayock. Tough with good mobility per ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. Likened to Blake Bortles. Depending on what happens with Sam Bradford, the plan was to have Wentz sit and learn his first season.
3. San Diego – DE Joey Bosa – Ohio State – 6’5 1/4”/269. (4.86 – 40 yard dash time).
Bosa is a solid run stuffer and he is likened to Everson Griffen per Mayock. Has a high motor per Kiper. He brings position versatility per Jon Gruden. Likened to Ryan Kerrigan.
4. Dallas – RB Ezekial Elliott – Ohio State – 5’11 3/4”/225. (4.47 – 40 yard dash time.)
Elliott is a 3 down back. He can run between the tackles and has good hands per Gruden. Likened to Edgerrin James.
Eze E should have the biggest fantasy impact of all rookies. Behind Dallas’ O-line and helping to take pressure off of Romo, Elliott should be a fairly high target in dynasty leagues. Dallas’ RB roster also fields Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden. Elliot should be the 3rd down/change of pace back if not the outright starter at some point.
5. Jacksonville – CB Jalen Ramsey – Florida State – 6’1 1/4”/209. (4.41 – 40 yard dash time).
Ramsey is a press corner with length. Also brings speed and athleticism per Mayock. Position versatile but has poor hands and not an aggressive hitter per Gruden. Likened to Sean Smith.
6. Baltimore – OT Ronnie Stanley – Notre Dame – 6’5 3/4”/312. (5.20 – 40 yard dash time).
Stanley is a good run blocker with good feet and is also likened to Tyron Smith per Mayock.
7. San Francisco – DE DeForest Buckner – Oregon – 6’7”/291. (5.05 – 40 yard dash time).
Buckner is long with power and an ideal 5 Technique. He is likened to Calais Campbell per Mayock.
8. Tennessee – OT Jack Conklin – Michigan State – 6’5 3/4”/308. (5.00 – 40 yard dash time).
Conklin is long and athletic with nastiness per Kiper. #1 OT in the class per Gruden. He is likened to Brandon Scherff.
9. Chicago – LB Leonard Floyd – Georgia – 6’5 5/8”/244. (4.60 – 40 yard dash time).
Floyd has excellent get off speed. He brings a good outside pass rush but lacks power. He is likened to Aldon Smith per Mayock.
10. New York Giants – CB Eli Apple – Ohio State – 6’0 5/8”/199. (4.40 – 40 yard dash time).
Apple is tall, long, fast, and physical but inexperienced per Mayock. He lacks consistency per Kiper. Weak tackler and lacks ball skills per Gruden. Likened to Trumaine Johnson.
11. Tampa Bay – CB Vernon Hargreaves – Florida – 5’10 1/2”/204. (4.40 – 40 yard dash time).
A solid tackler per Gruden. Lacks length per Kiper. Likened to Joe Haden.
12. New Orleans – DE Sheldon Rankins – Louisville – 6’1”/299. (4.90 – 40 yard dash time).
High motor per Kiper. A solid 3 technique and good interior pass rusher per Gruden. Likened to Grady Jarrett.
13. Miami – OT Laremy Tunsil – Ole Miss – 6’5”/310. (5.15 – 40 yard dash time).
Has solid overall left tackle skills but is flagged for durability and character issues per Kiper. Miami reported having Tunsil ranked #2 on their board, so this may be the top value pick of the round. Likened to Tyron Smith.
Tunsil, who was widely projected as a top 3-5 pick, had a video posted of him smoking pot in a gas mask attached to a bong on one of his social media accounts 13 minutes before the start of the draft. The drop to 13 may have roughly cost him $8-10 million, per ESPN insider Adam Schefter. Ouch…
14. Oakland – S Karl Joseph – West Virginia – 5’9 5/8”/205. (4.55 – 40 yard dash time).
A big hitter and position versatile and is likened to Bob Sanders. The #1 DB in the class per NFL insider Louis Riddick.
15. Cleveland – WR Corey Coleman – Baylor – 5’10 5/8”/194. (4.39 – 40 yard dash time).
Fast and athletic, but a weak route runner per Kiper. Likened to Percy Harvin and Steve Smith per Mayock.
16. Detroit – OT Taylor Decker – Ohio State – 6’7”/310.
Has a mean streak. Does not have great athleticism but is solid overall per Kiper. A good run blocker and projected RT per Gruden. Likened to Sebastian Vollmer.
17. Atlanta – S Keanu Neal – Florida – 6’0 1/2”/211. (4.53 – 40 yard dash time).
A big hitter but has weak man coverage ability. Likened to Cam Chancellor per Gruden.
18. Indianapolis – C Ryan Kelly – Alabama – 6’4”/311. (5.30 – 40 yard dash time).
Brings positional versatility per Kiper. Also, brings scheme versatility (zone or man) per Mayock. Likened to Bryan Stork.
19. Buffalo – DE Shaq Lawson – Clemson – 6’2 5/8”/269. (4.70 – 40 yard dash time).
Is a good penetrator and brings a high motor. Has good hands and position versatility per Mayock. Draft stock hurt by shoulder issue that will eventually require surgery at some point per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Likened to Courtney Upshaw.
20. New York Jets – LB Darron Lee – Ohio State – 6’1”/232. (4.47 – 40 yard dash time).
Lacks point of attack ability due to small size per Riddick. Brings sideline to sideline ability and effective in space per Mayock. Likened to Zach Brown.
21. Houston – WR Will Fuller – Notre Dame – 6’0 1/8”/186. (4.48 – 40 yard dash time).
Good speed but weak hands. Likened to Ted Ginn per Mayock. Can run a full route tree per Riddick.
22. Washington – WR Josh Doctson – TCU – 6’2”/202. (4.50 – 40 yard dash time).
Possesses reliable hands and is a good jump ball receiver per Gruden. Likened to Jordan Matthews per Mayock.
23. Minnesota – WR Laquon Treadwell – Ole Miss – 6’2”/221. (4.64 – 40 yard dash time).
Good hands and aggressive 50-50 ball winner. Also, is a good blocker per Mayock. Likened to DeAndre Hopkins. Treadwell could have an immediate impact in Minnesota as his possession receiver strengths should bode well with Bridgewater’s skill set.
24. Cincinnati – CB William Jackson III – Houston – 6’0”/189. (4.37 – 40 yard dash time).
Good man coverage and ball skills per Riddick. Good ball hawk skill and make up speed per Mayock. Likened to Phillip Gaines.
25. Pittsburgh – CB Artie Burns – Miami – 6’0”/193. (4.46 – 40 yard dash time).
A long, bump and run corner per Gruden. Good ball skills but needs to improve hand penalties per Riddick. Likened to David Amerson.
26. Denver – QB Paxton Lynch – Memphis – 6’7”/244. (4.86 – 40 yard dash time).
Athletic and has ability to get to the edge but a raw project per Kurt Warner. Elite arm but needs experience under center and in a huddle, which he has never done. He may be a year away from providing an impact per Mayock. Likened to Marcus Mariota.
27. Green Bay – DT Kenny Clark – UCLA – 6’2 5/8”/314. (5.10 – 40 yard dash time).
Good against the run and a good penetrator per Kiper. Likened to Sylvester Williams.
28. San Francisco – G Joshua Garnett – Stanford – 6’4 3/8”/312. (5.53 – 40 yard dash time).
A good, nasty, run blocker but an inconsistent pass blocker per Kiper. Likened to Gabe Jackson. Surprise pick here as SF trades back into the first round for this pick.
29. Arizona – DT Robert Nkemdiche – Ole Miss – 6’3 1/2”/294. (4.85 – 40 yard dash time).
Widely publicized character issues hurt his draft stock despite outstanding ability per Kiper. Brings explosiveness and quickness when his motor is on. A top 10 talent per Mayock. Likened to Sharrif Floyd.
30. Carolina – DT Vernon Butler – Louisiana Tech – 6’3 5/8”/323. (5.10 – 40 yard dash time).
Big, powerful, and reminiscent of Linval Joseph and Michael Brockers per Mayock.
31. Seattle – G Germain Ifedi – Texas A&M – 6’6”/324. (5.27 – 40 yard dash time).
Ifedi should provide immediate help on the interior line where Seattle fills a definite need. Likened to Billy Turner.
