DraftKings implements bonus fantasy points scoring in their format. This means each player receives an additional 3 fantasy points when players record at least 300+ passing yards and/or at least 100+ rushing/receiving yards in a game.

These bonus points could make a difference in finding an edge when deciding between particular players based on matchups. Here we will look at the bonus scoring results for last season (2014).

Robert Griffin III (WAS) – 1

QB Notes:
For example, Andrew Luck led all QBs with the most bonus scoring games which equates to an additional 30 fantasy points last season. There really aren’t that many surprises here at this position as the usual suspects had predictable results. There is a direct correlation with season yardage.

Russell Wilson had 3 100+ rushing yards games vs. 2 300+ passing yards games. Both Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton had 1 game apiece in this scenario.

Eli Manning should get a bump here considering the return of Victor Cruz and having Odell Beckham Jr. for an entire season.

Carson Palmer’s bonus games should increase as he missed most of last season to injury.

Jameis Winston may be a sleeper here considering his receiving corps and the NFC South division he plays in.

Doug Martin (TB) – 1
Alfred Morris (WSH) – 1

RB Notes:
DeMarco Murray ran away with this last season with 12 games but no one may come close to that number this season.

Adrian Peterson will take the 2 games Jerick McKinnon posted last season plus a lot more. It would not be surprising if Peterson ranked #1 when it’s all said and done.

C.J. Anderson should absorb Hillman’s 2 bonus games and add a few more with his expected heavy workload.

Interestingly, Jamaal Charles, who is sure to be a high first round pick in upcoming drafts, posted only 1 bonus game while his backup Knile Davis had 2.

Only five RBs posted a 100+ receiving yard game last season which include Le’Veon Bell, Darren Sproles, Eddie Lacy, Andre Ellington, and Matt Forte.

Pierre Garcon (WAS) – 1

WR Notes:
Demaryius Thomas could possibly increase his league leading number this season.

Emmanuel Sanders’ number should drop off in his expected slot role.

Megatron and Golden Tate both had 5 bonus games. Most of Tate’s big games came from Johnson’s absence from games missed from injury and playing as a decoy.

Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson both had 3 games but Evans’ number should jump with Jameis Winston now under center with a much bigger arm than what they had last year.
